1. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
25 minutes by taxi or 25 minutes by Uber
This is a beautiful airport. It cost a lot of money to build and is one of the top 10 largest in the world. If you are visiting the airport for the day, there is a beautiful area with water fountains where you can sit and just relax and work on your tan. It is not the cheapest place for a lunch but is a good location for spending some time relaxing.
2. Scottsdale Old Town
10 minutes by car from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Scottsdale Old Town is an ideal place to spend a few hours. It has a lot of boutique shops, restaurants and bars. There is also some great architecture in the area so if you’re a architecture lover it is one place that you will not want to miss. The best time to visit is during February when all the shops will have their Christmas lights on and there are Christmas lights events during November and December.
3. Carefree
15 minutes by car from Scottsdale Old Town
Carefree is a small community just to the west of Scottsdale. It is a much more laid back place but has all the tourist attractions that you would expect to find in Scottsdale. A great place if you are looking for an afternoon away from the city.

4. Cave Creek
30 minutes by car from Carefree
Cave Creek is a beautiful place with beautiful properties. It is unique in that it has a lot of large properties and is very peaceful and quiet. It is a beautiful home community.
5. McDowell Sonoran Preserve
30 minutes by car from Cave Creek
McDowell Sonoran Preserve is a wonderful place to go hiking and enjoy the outdoors. It is a very large park with tons of natural trails. It is a great place to go mountain biking.
Give any of these places a go, they are all easy to get to and are only a short drive away.
